Alice Bowden was born on March 3, 1937 to the late Ada Sample and Johnnie Sample. She went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2011.
Alice received her education from the Northampton County School System. She was the proud mother of three children, the late Norman Kellam, the late Daphne Coleman and Michelle Coleman who resides in Maplewood, New Jersey. She was blessed in holy matrimony to the late Kirby Bowden.
Alice was a woman of God and even on her sick bed; she was praising and thanking the Lord. Alice was a wife, mother, aunt, sister, grandmother and great grandmother and through it all, her light for Jesus was always shining through.
Alice was predeceased by her siblings, Elizabeth Sample, George Sample, Robert Sample and James Sample. She previously resided in New York and was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Bishop Elvin Crone. Later she moved to Cape Charles, Virginia and began her Christian fellowship at Mount Sinai Gospel Tabernacle under the leadership of Bishop Helen O. Gillis.
Alice thoroughly enjoyed her fellowship at Mount Sinai and was a member of the Senior Choir. She enjoyed giving her testimony about the goodness and blessings of God. She leaves to lovingly remember her a daughter, Michelle Coleman; four grand children, Shalonn Coleman, Myra Peck, Tiara Coleman and Na'Asia Coleman; a great granddaughter, Siyona Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
Sorrowfully submitted, the Family
