On Friday, August 7, 2015,
God walked through his garden and meticulously picked one of His flowers, Celestine Fentress Nottingham. In his infinite wisdom, God sealed the lips of His devoted servant. She transitioned from her earthly home to join the angles in her new home in Glory.
Celestine
was born April 9, 1949 in Cape Charles, VA to the late John W. Nottingham, Sr. and Bernice Spady Nottingham. Celestine accepted Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church of Capeville, VA. As she grew in Christian faith, she eventually relocated and became a member of First Baptist Church of Glenarden. While there, she served diligently with Shabach! Ministries, Incorporated. She also served as a prayer warrior, attend weekly bible study and participated in the Women's Ministry. Celestine continued to grow spiritually and subsequently became of member of Cornerstone Church in Bowie, Maryland.
Celestine
received her formal education in the Northampton County Public School System (Class of 1967). After high school, she attend Cortez Peters Business School in Washington, DC. Soon after graducation she was employed as a librarian technician at Bowie State University, located in Bowie, MD. She used that opportunity to further her education. After a successful tenure at Bowie State, Celestine was assigned to a similar position at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. Her love for people led Celestine to a position as a sales associate with Macy's
In her later years, Celestine
developed a deeper appreciation of God and the beauty of his universe. She had special scriptures for everyone. She often remarked on how wonderful it was to sit on the side of a mountain and view the beautiful flowers that grew all around. Celestine loved to watch the waters as the waves washed upon the shores. She admired the stars as they twinkled in the night-light. Celestine loved to decorate her home and was very stylish in her attire.

leaves to cherish her memory (2) sons: Craig C. Nottingham (Wanda) and Jay Moss; (2) Brothers: John W. Nottingham, Jr. and Wardell M. Nottingham (Shirley); (5) Sisters: Fannie Lee; Naomi Bailey; Delores Lindsey; Mary N. Ward (Robert); Helen Ames; (5) Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews,cousins family and friends
