IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Vernon
Parker
August 30, 1968 – September 2, 2023
Mr. Charles Vernon Parker story begins on August 30, 1968 in Exmore, Virginia. Charles was born to the Late Sarah Ann Sample Parker and Kenneth Vernon Parker.
Charles' story continues as he graduated from Nandua High School, Onley, Virginia. He went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. This experience afforded him the opportunity of enrolling in the Military Engineering curriculum. Charles thirst for knowledge and gaining more skills allowed him to obtain a H-VAC certificate. He was employed at many jobs on the Eastern Shore. Two of his most notable jobs were Sysco Eastern Maryland located in Pocomoke, Maryland and for the Virginia Department of Transportation. He knew the biblical principle, "if a man doesn't work, he does not eat" This was passed from his grandfather, Charles E. Parker to his father, Kenneth Parker and down to him.
Charles's story continues as he felt the need for a "higher power" in his life, he was converted, baptized and joined the New Mount Zion Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Willie A. Carter. Christianity wasn't new to Charles, his parents were avid Christians. His mother's roots from New Mount Zion and his father, Deacon Kenneth Parker from Shiloh Baptist Church taught him to put God first in his life. As Charles matured, he would frequent Shiloh Baptist Church. He loved how Pastor Jesse Thomas told the story.
Charles was a talker; he never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone regardless of race or social economic status. He had smile that would melt your heart. He will be greatly missed by family as well as his many friends.
On September 2, 2023, at the Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital with family by his side, God said, "Charles this is where hour story ends. Now is the time that you rest from your labor." He will be greatly missed but the memories will last forever.
Left to hold his memories are: His children, Keahmaya Parker, Marquese (Georgina) Chandler, and Kenneth Thomas; Grandchildren, Nazariea, Messiyah, Jayda, and Kailynn Chandler; Siblings, Joe Weatherly and Patricia Armwood; Aunts, Brenda Gethers and Barbara Spann; Uncles, Roy Parker, Arnold (Mary), and Jerry Parker; Special Friend, Teresa Marshall; Best Buds, Benjamin Turner, Craig Kellam and Alfred Turner; Host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
