Obituary

Constance Eugene Whitney peacefully slipped into eternal rest on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the home of her caregiver, Stephanie Richardson in Philadelphia, PA.

Constance was born July 19, 1937 in Cape Charles, VA to the late Noble and Ethel Mae Whitney. She was educated in the Northampton County Public School System and attended Maryland State. Constance, affectionately known by family and friends as "Chink", moved to Philadelphia almost 50 years ago and was employed by the City of Philadelphia for 20 years before retiring in 1993.

Chink realized a need to have a spiritual relationship with God and at an early age became a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Charles, VA. She was a very spiritual person who always shared a word about the Lord. She had a very caring heart with a giving spirit.

Chink leaves loving and lasting memories for her cousins: Eugene Jackson of Philadelphia, PA; Pauline Perry (Thomas, deceased) of Brooklyn, NY; Brenda Harding of Philadelphia, PA; Pauline Foreman (Eugene) of Norfolk, VA; Doris Evans of Deptford, NJ; Alice Mapp of Virginia Beach, VA; her "adopted" family, the Richardsons of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Eunice Whitney.

Graveside Services will be Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Cape Charles Community Cemetery, Cape Charles, VA.
