Cora Lee Owens was born on February 18, 1960 in Nassawadox, Virginia to Eddie and Susie Cora Stewart. She went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 3:30p.m. at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.
Cora Lee was educated in the Northampton County Public School System. She was a long time employee of the American House, Kane & Miller and Northampton Seafood.
Cora Lee accepted Christ under the leadership of Bishop Helen O. Gillis. During her walk with Christ, she was a member of the Busy Bees, Combined Ensemble Choir, a member of the Family and Friends Day Committee and in charge of the Kitchen Staff.
Cora Lee leaves to cherish loving memories, her husband, Carl Owens, Fairview, VA; two sons, Vontalaway Owens (Maria), Tony Owens (Ronotta); two grandchildren, T.J. and Rhoquis Owens; her mother, Susie Cora Stewart, four sisters; Yvonne Burgess, Barbara Brown (James),Joyce Fenderson (Earnest) and Judith Tisdale; one aunt, Margaret Trower, one great-aunt, Mary Bracey; two Goddaughters, Amanda Owens and Sheila Ruffin, eight sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
