Daniel I. Giddens, 78, a resident of Northampton County Virginia entered in eternal rest on the morning of Tuesday, June 4, 2019. He was born on January 18, 1941 to the Late Irvin and Charlotte Press Giddens in New York.

Daniel spent his early years in Northampton County where he was raised by his grandparents and was formally educated in the public schools of Northampton County.

Daniel spent the early part of his adult life in New York where he met the love of his life, Pat.

Daniel had a fondness for dogs.  This fondness was displayed as he raised show dogs and prepared them for various competitions.

To know Daniel was to know a gentleman that had strict morals and values and did not compromise them; he meant what he said and said what he meant, and held true to his convictions.

Upon returning to the Eastern Shore in the early 80's, Daniel was employed as a security office in the Sunset Beach Inn and while employed there he made many lasting friendships.

Daniel later became employed by the Northampton County Sheriff's Office, a job he held for 19 years and during that time he rose to the rank of Sergeant.  Daniel earned the respect of his colleagues as well as those who were incarcerated.

Daniel could often be seen with his glasses resting on the tip of his nose looking over the top of them and stating his case.

Daniel will be missed by all who knew him especially Pat and the N.C.S.O. Family.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Significant other, Pat; Timothy, Pennsylvania and Robert, Eastville, VA, Marianne, Long Island, N.Y., brother, Robert Giddens, New Jersey, Sister, Shirley Ames, Florida, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the N.C.S.O. family.
