Obituary

Evangeline "Sang" (Gray) Bailey was born on
November 4, 1949 in Williamston, North Carolina to
Alphonza Lyons Sr. and Laura "Christine" (Gray)
Ruffin. Sang and her family moved to the Eastern
Shore in the 1950's to start a new life. It was here she
got involved in the church, the community and started a
new part of her life.

She was joined into holy matrimony to Larry Stevens,
Sr. of Eastville Virginia in 1968. As they began to build
their lives together, Larry fully embraced her first son,
Reginald Gray. To this union was born three more
loving children: son Larry A. (Brenda) Stevens, Jr. of
Bristow Virginia; daughter Chrystal L. (Keith) Wynder
of Chesapeake Virginia; and son Maurice B. (Rosalind)
Stevens, Sr. of Suffolk, Virginia. This union lasted for
twenty years. Sang would later meet the man who
would steal her heart. In 1993, Sang married Levin
"Anthony" Bailey of Eastville Virginia where they
remained wed for twenty three years until her death.
She accepted Christ early in life and received the
nickname of Sang because she sang like an Angel. She
visited multiple churches throughout Northampton
County.

On December 19, 2016, Evangeline (Gray) Bailey
departed this life surrounded by those she loved.
