Maria Aquila Spady, 60 of Fairview, VA, wife of Theodore Spady passed away December 6, 2014 at her home. She was born on June 10, 1954 to the late Isaiah Leroy and Ellen Ann Jackson. She was the oldest of ten children and was affectiontely known by her family and friends as "Dot".

Maria was educated in the Northampton County Public School System, Norfolk Public School Systems and EasternShore Community College, where she earned her GED. Shortly after graduation, she became a Certified Nursuing Aide and was employed by Heritage Hall and in Home Health Care. She also worked for KMC Foods, Perdue Farms and spent 20 years at Margaret's Gift Shop as the store manager. In 1973, she met the love of her life, Theodore Roosevelt Spady and the two were joined in holy matrimony. Two sons where born of this union.

Maria accepted christ at an early age and attended services at Crusaders for Christ in Norfolk,VA under Bishop Estella D. Smith. She later return to the Eastern Shore and attended Mt. Sinai Gospel Tabernacle under the leadership of Bishop Smith and Bishop Helen O. Gillis. She served faithfully as the Bishop's, church secretary, assistant secretary of the Minister and Leadership Convention, Sunday School teacher, choir member, usher,deaconess, praise and worship leader, just to name a few.

She leaves special memories: to her Husband, Thoeodore; 2 sons Kevin and Bryant (Erica); 8 grandchildren; 9 brothers and sisters:Isaih, Larry, Yvonne (Rick), Barry (Etta), Anothy (Lara), Delois, Adrienne (Anthony), Rod and Tonya; 2 aunts; 1great-aunt; 3 godchildren: Van Miner, Nicole Sunkins and Jamal Williams; 1 sister-in-law; 6 brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
