God picked a flower out of His garden of "Life" and placed it on His bouquet of "Eternal Rest".

Holmer Wilson Gholson was born on October 3, 1951 to the late Molly Kellam and Lankford Weeks.  Homer attended Cape Charles Public School system where he played football, basketball and of course sung in the school choir.

After graduating from the Cape Charles School, Homer entered the work force where he worked for RC Cola, Bagwell Oil, Shore Stop, Three Sons Trucking, Northampton County Public Schools as a bus driver (bus #20), Perdue Farms, and K&J Trucking.  Of all the jobs that Homer held down, his prize possession was his own trucking company "King Fish" Trucking.  Homer enjoyed nothing more than the smell of diesel fuel when he was behind the wheel of the truck.  He enjoyed this until his health began to fail him.

Homer was preceded in death by his mother: Molly Kellam, Father; Lankford Weeks, grandson; Joshua Gholson and daughter in law; La Shawn Gholson.

Homer leaves loving memories to be cherished by his wife of 11 years; Dale Gholson, his children; Solomon Owens (Crystal), Charlene Gholson, George Gholson, Antwine Beckett, Deanna Bright (Jermaine), Shynika Beckett, Deshaun Gholson and Glen Burton, Siblings; Walter Gholson (Joyce), PA, Amir Gholson, NC, Synthia Dyson (Eric), DC, Wendy Watson (Paul), CO, Jean Atkins, NJ and Shirley Burton.  Grandchildren; Briyana, Solmon Jr, Nikalaus, Nichanna, Trinity, Xavier, Jayden, Imear, Chloe, Nadia, Kennedy, Da'Niyah, Na'Kayla, Klasiq, Damiya, Tobias, Derinton, Tiffany, Taqwain, Giavonni, and Chris Jr.  God-daughter; Dyshonna Sheppard; Special daughters; Tonja Diggs (Larry) and Andrea Williams (Chris), Mother in law; Evelyn Burton; Sister in laws Shirley Burton, Marilyn Tankard (Charlie), Marjorie Burton; Brother in laws; Oliver Burton, and Marvel Johnson.  Special Niece and Nephew; Kim Hudgins-Onley, VA and Allen Copes, Norfolk, VA.  A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
