James Edward Fisher of Cape Charles, Virginia, loving known as Jimmy to family and friends passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Nassawadox, Virginia.

James was born February 15, 1942 to the late Earnest Palmer and Margaret Fisher in Northampton County.

He was married to Lille Custis Fisher and attended the public schools of Northampton County School System.

James enjoyed farming and was employed as a tractor driver for many years.

James is survived by his wife, Lillie Fisher, Onancock, VA; daughter, Doretha Washington, South Carolina; granddaughter, Chaquita Washington; 2 grandsons, Darnell Washington and Sadonnis Turner, all from South Carolina; sister, Malinda Dowling, Eastville, VA; 2 brothers, Charles Palmer, Painter, VA and Clinton Palmer, Melfa, VA; brother-in-law, Arthur Kellam, Cape Charles, VA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Grays Funeral Home, 618 Jefferson Avenue, Cape Charles, VA with Evangelist Juanita B. Godwin, Officiating.
