IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Santonio
Treherne
September 8, 1945 – April 6, 2022
Joseph "Joeboy" Treherne son of the Late William Treherne and Albertine Moses Treherne, was born on September 8, 1945 in Northampton County, Virginia. He entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at his residence in Cape Charles, Virginia. Joseph attended the Northampton County Public Schools until he went to work in his mother's family trucking and produce contracting business.
Joe was raised in a Christian home where he learned the things of God and accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He was later baptized at First Baptist Church in Cape Charles, Virginia.
Joe was a very ambitious, honest and trustworthy entrepreneur who owned and operated Joe's Painting and Roofing Company for 45 years. He was a huge part of the Cape Charles Community, and they could always count on Joe. He probably unthawed more neighbor's pipes than anyone in town.
Joe was truly a Father in Zion who always instructed others in the right direction. His life was truly a blessing and a light to others. He built strong relationships with his family and made sure they were always taken care of. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Clarence and William Treherne.
Joe leaves to cherish precious memories with his loving wife of 50 years, Rosetta Treherne, Cape Charles, VA; six children: Carrie Brickhouse (Hollis, Sr), Machipongo, VA, Ronnie Copes (Lenny), Norfolk, VA, Albertine Treherne, VA Beach, VA, Anthony Ruffin (Pearline), VA Beach, VA, Alfreda Hawkins, Suffolk, VA, Antonio Beasley, (Stacy), Trenton, NJ,; three sisters, Pastor Albertine Rich (Dr. Titus Rich), Brooklyn, NY, Evangelist Louise Velez, Somerset, NJ, and Missionary Virginia Atkins, Somerset, NJ; 14 grandchildren, T'Andre, Hollis Jr, Brittney, Darrell Jr, Darrius, Darriell, Joseph, Raquel, Leshawn, Anthony, Jr, Ciara, Selena, Brianna, Amaya; seven sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, his customers, and the Cape Charles Community. He will be sorely missed by his very close grandson T'Andre, his daily conversation buddy.
