Mrs. Lotheal Linda Diane Mitchell passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She was born July 10, 1953 in Wallace, North Carolina to the late Henry Owes and Willie Lee Newkirk Owes.
Missionary Mitchell attended the public school systems in Hillsborough and Pinellas County Florida.
She was married July 10, 1972 and from this union 3 beautiful girls were born, Tiffany, Rasheeda and Jammie. She was employed at Mac Dill Air Force Base and head cook of the flight room doing what she loves to do best, cook and serve. During her time in Florida, she loved to serve and care for all. She would invite everyone to come to eat and fellowship at her house. Not only did she serve her community with great passion, but she also served her church family. At New Testament Church in Tampa, Florida, she was part of the activities and outreach program.
Later in life, Missionary Mitchell moved to Virginia where she continued her servitude for the Lord and her community. She worked as a private day care provider and delighted in caring for children and their families.
Missionary Mitchell was a faithful member of Living Word Church of Deliverance Church in Parksley, Virginia for many years. When she moved to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren, she joined Abundant Life Christian Ministries in Norfolk, Virginia and Words of Life Church in Richmond, Virginia where her service for the Lord continued.
Missionary Mitchell loved her daughters unconditionally. "My Girls" as she would always refer to them. She valued education and made sure her girls had the best in life and grew up knowing the ways of the Lord. She enjoyed participating in her daughters' school activities and performances. She was their biggest cheerleader. She was overjoyed at the birth of each of her grandchildren, especially her first granddaughter, Nyrele, "Maxie Pooh". She and her Maxie Pooh shared a special bond which will always be cherished. Her family was everything to her and she treasured the relationship with her two sisters, Josie and Joyce.
Missionary Mitchell leaves to cherish her three daughters; Tiffany Renee Mitchell Ross, Rasheeda Kammillia Mitchell and Jammie Latoya Mitchell-Marciano (Edwin); six grandchildren; Nyrele Gatlin, Genesis Ross, Elin Marciano, Geremiah Ross, Gernee Ross and Emori Marciano.
Mother, Willie Lee Joyner; sisters and brothers; Louise Joyce Owes, Josephine McDowell, Linda Calhoun, Lucille Owes, Apostle Vinson Owes, Alec Owes, Benjamin Owes, Dorothy Mae Owes; 2 God daughters; Wanda Batten and Carrie Brickhouse, 2 nieces she consider as daughters; Mia Nicole Starchia-Epps and Natasha Robinson; one nephew she consider as her son, Tommy Owes, her Teddy Bear, a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by father; Henry Lee Owes, 2 sisters; Christine Owes and Lillie Mae Harden and 2 brothers; Nehemiah Owes and John Henry Owes.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Living Word Church of Deliverance in Parksley, Virginia with Bishop Irvin O. Jackson, Officiating.
The interment will be held in the church cemetery in Parksley.
