Margie Mary Jackson Dixon born on February 15, 1931, departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 21, 2018. She was affectionately known by her family as "Dottie". She was born in Northampton County, Virginia to the late Isaiah and Estelle Jackson. In 1948, she was joined together in marriage to Elijah Dixon and from this union they reared eight children, three girls and five boys.
Margie received salvation at Mt. Sinai Gospel Tabernacle. While at Mt. Sinai, she served faithfully as Sunday school teacher, Usher, YPHA teacher, choir member, and President of the Pastoral Committee under Bishop Bishop Hellen O. Gillis and the late Estella D. Smith.
After Apostle Irvin O. Jackson was called to pastor, she felt in her heart to go and help her nephew in the ministry. While being Church Mother, she faithfully served as President of the Pastoral Anniversary Committee and Hospitality Committee greeter. Mother Dixon loved to praise The Lord. She was known by some friends as the "Million Dollar Lady" because of her unique style of dress suits, high-heeled shoes, and the hats she had worn. Margie had a bright personality and loved chatting with people. One of her most noted sayings was, "And I wanna thank you!"
Margie received her education in the Northampton County school system. She was a long time worker at GL Webster Factory and Kane & Miller Factory. Margie continued her education with The Chicago School of Nursing where she received her certification for Infant Stimulation/Mother Training. She later worked for the State of Virginia as a Health Aide of the Migrant Project throughout Northampton and Accomack Counties. Margie also was a C. N. A., at Heritage Hall in Nassawadox, Virginia. She loved helping and caring for people.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Isaiah and Estelle Jackson, her husband Elijah Dixon, siblings; Isaiah Jackson II, Adlane Jackson and Irene Ruffin, her son Paul Dixon and her grandsons Rodney Dixon and Jermaine Robinson.
Margie leaves loving and lasting memories with her children, Elisha and(Jeanette), Patricia and(Norman), Starlene and (Ornia), Aaron and (Jeanette), Michael and (Judy), Eleanor and Estelle; 29 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, her sister Delores Page and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
