Obituary

Phillip Williams, son of the late Reverend Benjamin Williams and Bertha Allen Williams, was born February 19, 1948. On February 11, 2018, Phillip heard a voice from heaven calling his name, but before answering the call, Phillip gave praise unto God by shouting out loudly, 3 consecutive times, "Thank you Jesus for Saving Me." Phillip then let go and answered the call of the heavenly dove and went home to be with the Lord on the evening of February 11, 2018.

Phillip, was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and attended IC Norcom School, but graduated from Northampton High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Sinai Gospel Tabernacle under the leadership of Bishop Estella Smith. He was one of 10 children. He was predeceased by 2 sons, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. On October 18, 1968, Phillip married his beloved wife Paulette Rowley Williams and unto this Holy union, 3 children were born.

Phillip was employed at Bayshore Concrete for 30 years as a foreman and Eastern Shore Air Cool & Underground Inc for 15 years. Phillip was very musically inclined; he enjoyed playing the organ, directing the choir and singing the Gospel. Phillip was "always the life of the party." Phillip enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Phillip also enjoyed watching football, he was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Phillip leaves to cherish his memory, wife Paulette Williams (Cheapside, Va), 2 sons Phillip (Alexandria, Va) and Prentice Williams (Cheapside, Va), 1 daughter Patrina Williams-Keyes (Deon- Special Son-in-law), Cheapside, Va), 3 Brothers; Larry C Williams Sr. (Vashti, Portsmouth, Va), Thomas Williams (Connie, San Antonio, Tx), Marvin Williams (Ernersta, NewYork, NY), 1 sister Deborah Morton (Portsmouth, Va), Sister-in-laws; Barbara Moses (Windsor, Va), Ella Williams (Chesapeake, Va); Brother-in-laws Harry (Joyce) and William Rowley (Brenda) of Philadelphia, Pa; 8 grandchildren, 1 special grand-daughter ShaQuiche Savage (Cheriton, Va), 10 great grandchildren, 3 special nieces; Chanda Patterson and Caulette Turner (Paul) of Windsor, Va & Karen Williams (Chesapeake, Va); 5 God children, Roxanne Fisher, Shernita Boyd, Aspria Trower, Irreka Knotts & Jonathan Bailey; God Sister, Edna Sample, a special friend Tim Smith, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
