On Wednesday morning, December 5, 2007, Raymond Owens Spady, peacefully slept into eternal rest.
Raymond was born the seventh child to the late William and Maggie Lee Spady in Northampton County where he attended the Northampton County Public School System. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Savior and joined the African Baptist Church in Cheriton, Virginia.
Raymond developed good work ethics and skills during his youth and continued to be energetic and enthusiastic as an entrepreneur in many areas. He owned and operated Northampton Service Station for 45 years. He was an industrious family man always caring and providing for his family.
Raymond served his community and the entire Eastern Shore with distinction through his affiliations with appointed boards and organizations. He exemplified sincere concern for the water and soil conservation. In spite of momentous challenges, his efforts greatly influenced the civic and political processes.
Raymond will be loved and remembered by his devoted wife, Dorothy of Cape Charles, Virginia; his two daughters, Madeline Spady-Martin (Edward) of Fort Washington, Maryland and Pauline Spady-White (Rozelle) of Landover, Maryland; two grand daughters, Rene and Monica; two great grand daughters, Zaire and Johné; a brother, Louis Spady of Townsend, Virginia, one sister, Vivian S. Lovingly submitted, The Family
