Ms. Robin D. Ayers Joyner, 62 of Cape Charles, was born June 9, 1957 and departed this life on Thursday, June 20, 2019 surrounded by family; talking and playing with her beloved grandson, eight month old, Adonis Montrel Gaines.  There was no sign or warning that on this day she would leave us.

Robin: wife, companion, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, best friend, lover of children and dogs, cook, choir member and devoted church member, left this place and ascended to her heavenly home.

She attended and graduated from Cape Charles Combined School in 1976.  After graduation she followed the work ethics established by her parents, Laura Ayers and Robert Taylor and found gainful employment, working over the years at C&D Seafood, American House and as a cook at Alvin's, Tim's and Howard's restaurants.  She also owned her own business for a period of time, Robin's Fast Food and Home-cooked Meals on Mason Avenue.

Robin joined St. Stephen's in her youth and remained a dedicated member.  When she was forced to retire from employment due to health issues; she worked at church heading the Culinary Committee for many years and working to involve community youth in church activities; living her best life.

She was predeceased by her parents and siblings: Arthur, Doris and William.  She leaves to treasure her memories; daughter, Erica (Valdez Gaines, fiancée) and grandson of Cape Charles; brothers Robert Wayne of Salem, VA; Charles (Carolyn) of Bear, DE and sisters, Betty Beech of Bronx, N.Y.; Althea Mendoza of Phila., PA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friend.
