Roscoe Shaperio Jesse Brickhouse, the youngest of five children born to the late Robert Lee Brickhouse, Sr., and Lillian Frances Ames Brickhouse, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025.

Roscoe graduated from Northampton County High School, where he cultivated his passion and natural gift for art. He enjoyed creating portraits of family members, abstract paintings, and ceramics. His talent led him to Norfolk State College, where he majored in Art before serving his country. Roscoe enlisted in the United States Army, dedicating two years to military service.

After serving in the Army, Roscoe returned to the Eastern Shore and met and married the love of his life, Cordella Overton. He embraced her and her son, Farise, as his own. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared memories.

A man of many talents, he operated a mobile ice cream truck and was affectionately known as the "Ice Cream Man" to children throughout the Eastern Shore. Roscoe later went into business with his brother, Robert Jr., operating Ideal Cleaners in Exmore, Va.

Roscoe was preceded in death by his brothers Robert and Maurice and nephews Keith Godwin and Reginald Brickhouse. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Cordella; daughter, Latonya, stepson, Farise; two loving sisters, Luray Brickhouse and Juanita Godwin (Thomas) of Cape Charles; niece, Tonja Paylor (Perry), nephew, Thomas Godwin, Jr.; Great nephew Glenn Jones Jr; great niece, Madison Jones; grand - stepson  , Farren Overton, sister-in-  law , Lavern  Overton,  brother-in- law,  Robert Overton, 2  step- brothers - in - law  , Darren  Overton  and  Varren Overton, cousins, and a host of cherished family members and friends who will miss his warm smile and jovial laugh.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, January 16, from 10 a.m. to Noon at Gray's Funeral Home in Cape Charles, Va. There will be a private burial in the Brickhouse family cemetery in Hare Valley, VA.
