Rosetta "Rosie" Treherne, daughter of the late Beatrice Battle and the late George Hickman was born on April 2, 1949 in Northampton County Virginia and entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, Virginia. She was educated in the Northampton County Public School.
"Rosie" met and married the late Joseph Treherne. To this union, three daughters were born, Carrie ("Peanut"), Ronnie and Albertine ("Teen").
"Rosie accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was an active member at First Baptist Church, Cape Charles, Virginia serving in the kitchen ministry until her health began to fail.
"Rosie" was a homemaker but also held various jobs throughout her lifetime. She worked at G.L. Webster which later became Kane & Miller Corporation in Cheriton, Virginia. She later became a small business owner opening T's Corner, a convenient store in Cape Charles, Virginia.
"Rosie" completer her career as owner and operator of Mrs. Roxie's Playpen as a home base licensed child care provider.
"Rosie" has a strong relationship with family and friends. She enjoyed playing spades and going to the "BINGO" hall. We can rest assure that she is in Heaven at the spades table again with Alice Waldo, Pearline Fisher, Robin Ayers and Linda Jones.
"Rosie" leaves to cherish precious memories: her daughters, Carrie Brickhouse (Hollis, Sr.), Birdsnest, VA, Ronnie Copes(Lenny), Norfolk, VA, Albertine Treherne, Norfolk, VA; eight sisters: Ella Stratton (James), Norfolk, VA, Dora West (Vincent), Onancock, VA, Paulette Epps, Eastville, VA, Carleen Battle, Cheriton, VA, Aurelia Jean Purnell, Cape Charles, VA, Audrey Battle (Chris), Norfolk, VA, Roslyn Conway (Larry), Jamaica, NY, Yasmin Johnson, Long Island, NY; two brothers: Alexander Battle, Cape Charles, VA, Glen Hickman, Hempstead, NY; Grandchildren; Dekisha, T'Andre, Hollis, Jr, Brittney, Darrell, Jr., Darrius, Dariel, Joseph, Raquel; four sisters-in-law: Ida Treherne, Elizabeth City, NC, Pastor Albertine Rich (Dr Titus Rich), Brooklyn, NY, Evangelist Louise Velez, Somerset, NJ, Missionary Virginia Atkins, Somerset, NJ; Nieces and Nephews and a host of family members and friends. She was predeceased by sister Carrie Banks nd brother Oliver Battle.
