The Beginning
Sylvia Denise Hopkins was born on October 17, 1952 to Johnnie Henderson and the late Sylvia Robinson Henderson.

The Journey
Denise as she was affectionately called, was born, reared, and educated in Northampton County, Virginia.  She graduated from Northampton High School in 1971.  She later married the late Tyrone Hopkins and unto this union, one child was born, Tyrone Jermaine Hopkins.

Denise joined first Baptist Church at a very early age where she sang in the youth choir.  Denise worked various jobs during the course of her life.  Her most important job was being the primary caregiver for her son.  "Jermaine", which she did until she gained her heavenly wings and was called home.  She loved him dearly and would not have it any other way.

Denise was predeceased by her husband, Tyrone Hopkins and her beloved mother, Sylvia Henderson.

The End
In the early morning of March 2, 2018, Denise went to join her husband and mother, Sylvia to rest in her eternal and heavenly home in glory.  She leaves to cherish fond memories her beloveth son, Tyrone Hopkins of Townsend, Virginia; her father, Johnnie Henderson, Townsend, Virginia; one sister, Shirlean Henderson Stratton (Irving), Cape Charles, Virginia; four brothers, Johnnie Henderson, Frederick, Maryland, Bobby Henderson, Adam Henderson, both of Norfolk, Virginia and William Henderson (Tikeyisha), Parksley, Virginia; Sister-in-law Carolyn Henderson, Hinesville, Georgia; two aunts, Elma Watson, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Dorethia Robinson, Hampton, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Capeville, Virginia.
