Obituary

For I am now ready to be offered,
And the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me
a crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
The righteous judge shall give me at that day;
And not to me only, but unto all them also
That love his appearing.

2nd Timothy 4: 6-8

Thelma Elizabeth Brown, the only child born to Roberta "Burdie" Brown passed away Friday, September 14, 2007 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, Virginia. To know Thelma was to love her. She was affectionately called "Poochie" by her family. She loved to keep her cousins and aunts busy no matter what the cost.

Thelma attended the Cape Charles Combined School System and Northampton County School System. Later in life she became ill and had to endure dialysis treatments three times a week. Some treatments lasted five hours and Thelma still had a sense of humor afterwards. She smiled and kept the faith throughout the years of illness. She realized that God was her refuge and strength. Everyone she came in contact with exemplified they had a great fondness for her. She will be sadly missed by all of us.

Thelma leaves to mourn her departure, her mother, Roberta Brown of Fort Pierce, Florida; two aunts, Helen Alexander, Fort Pierce, Florida and Margaret A. Beckett, Cape Charles, Virginia; an uncle, Jesse R. Logan, Bayview, Virginia; cousins, Maryshell Pepper, Ann Pepper, Edward Brown, Joseph T. Brown, Irish Beckett, and a host of other cousins and friends.
