On January 28, 1923 in Eastville, Virginia, the second of ten children, Timothy Whitby Allen, Sr was born to the late William and Annie G. Allen. His sunset was February 29, 2012 at the home of his grandson and caregiver, Dwayne Alexis Allen in Wachapreague, Virginia.
Tim as he was fondly called spent his life in the area of his birth. He attended the public schools in Northampton County. He loved gardening so much he kept his chair there. He shared his harvest with family and friends. He was a lifelong member of Bethel AME Church, Eastville, Virginia.
Tim for years worked for Bayshore Concrete Products in Cape Charles and retired in 1985. He was married to the late Lillie Mae Brown. Together they raised five sons anfd two daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one son, Herbert "HQ", a daughter, Shirley, grandson, Timothy, two sisters, Emma A. Morris and Vivian A. Custis, four brothers, William, Alvin, Robert and Claude.
