Obituary

Ulysses Simpson Smith, III (Tony) was received into God's Heavenly Kingdom on May 21, 2016.

Tony was born Nov. 6, 1970 to Virginia and Ulysses Smith, Jr. in Washington, DC. As a child, Tony was a very energetic, smart, athletic and wonderful child (of course mommy would say so).

As a teen, he continued to be a football and martial arts enthusiast. He attained a Black Belt in Shaolin Wu-SHU at Dennis Brown Academy.

Tony was inducted into The Men of Steel All County Football Team in Prince George's County, Maryland where he attended and graduated from Friendly High School in 1988. He then attended Penn State University to continue his education.

As an adult, Tony pursued a career in communications in finance at V.M.C. Communications in Northern Virginia.

The greatest of all his accomplishments is that Tony knew God. His faith was his strength and sustained him through every trial and tribulation.

He is survived by his loving wife, Saphia; his sons; Antonio and Gabriel, step-sons, Caleb and Jonathon; brother, Gabriel; sister-in-law, Windy; Nephew, Mason; granddaughter, Raven; Parents, Virginia and Ulysses, Jr. and a host of relatives and friends.
