Wesley Arthur Stevens 79, became one of God's angels June 22, 2017 with his daughter by his side. He as born January 6, 1938 to the late Mildred Bland and late Arthur Stevens.
He attended Cape Charles Elementary School and Northampton High School before joining the United States Army in 1955. During his years of employment, he worked at Martins Farm, Waste Management and the Steel Mill making pillars for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
Wesley leaves behind his daughter, Raven Stevens Malone of Burlington, NC; son Burnett Baines (Sheila) of Delaware, Maryland; three grandchildren, Elijah, Elisha and Edwin of Burlington, NC; stepdaughters, Denice and Sharon Bradley of Burlington, NC; a host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his siblings.
Funeral services was held June 27, 2017 at Grays Funeral Home, Cape Charles, Virginia with Rev. James Wilkes, Jr of Elon First Baptist Church, Elon, NC Officiating. The interment was at Albert G. Horton Cemetery, Suffolk, Virginia
