Willie James Brown or "Blue" as he was affectionately referred to by friends and family came into this world on September 3, 1915. Blue was born in Vidette, Georgia and raised in the South before settling in Virginia. He departed this Earth for his heavenly home on January 3, 2012.
Blue was one of four children born to the late Ella Baccak and Edwick Brown. Blue will forever be remembered by his devoted children, John Willie Brown and Hope Rochelle Brown Sims. He also raised two step children, William Hughes and Dorothy Giddens. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
Blue was a generous, no nonsense, hardworking man who maintained his trademark quick wit until the end. He spent most of his young life as a truck driver and owner/operator. He also loved farming and family, but the love and life lessons Blue bestowed upon his children is the most amazing legacy that could ever be left behind. Blue was a mighty praying man of God and because of this, we know all is well with his soul. He will be greatly missed by the immeasurable number of people whose lives he touched.
