IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willie Lee
Spady, Jr.
March 25, 1957 – December 21, 2011
Willie
attended the Northampton County Public Schools. While in school, he developed a love for art and baseball. His artwork depicted his love for the "westerns". He played Little League and "Babe Ruth" and became known as "the Homerun King" because of his outstanding performance. When it was his turn to bat, his coach would say, "Come on Willie Baby." His favorite professional team was the Baltimore Orioles. During the mid 70s, Willie hitchhiked to Baltimore to participate in the tryouts!
Willie
loved his family dearly. For fear of omitting anyone, Willie would often ask a family member with whom he was conversing, "How's everybody up north?", when inquiring about the health of other family members. He would listen intently, make comments, and give messages to be taken back. It was a thrill to be called "Uncle Willie" by his nieces and nephews as he helped look out for them.
He leaves to cherish treasured memories, his mother, Lauretta Spady; his father, Willie Spady, Sr.; five sisters: Dr. Ruthellen Weeks-Rickerson (Alfonso), Titusvile, PA; Alma (Gerald), Cape Charles; Tracy, Claymont, DE; Erika, Philadelphia, PA; and Annette, Ypsilanti, MI; one brother, Samuel Kaye, Philadelphia, PA; two aunts, Doretha Smith, Stamford, CT; Callie Spady, NY; one great aunt, Ivory (Levin) Brown; nine nieces and nephews, Eugene, Stephanie, Natalie, Charles, Michael, Jalisa, Rodney, Avonlea, and Armand, Victor, Kadell, Korey, and Avery; great-nieces and great-nephews, many cousins, a special cousin, Deborah Morris (Rev. C. Morris), Eastville, VA; other relatives and friends.
